About this prototype
What NeuroSpine is and how to read its scores.
NeuroSpine is a concept dashboard that shows how a chiropractic practice could screen for anxiety and depression alongside physical treatment.
It was designed alongside a research proposal on the relationship between chronic musculoskeletal pain and anxiety and depression symptoms among chiropractic patients in the DMV region. Published research links chronic pain with anxiety and depression, yet mental health is rarely screened for in chiropractic care.

How scores are read
Standard severity ranges for each questionnaire.
Pain
Brief Pain Inventory average, 0 to 10

Anxiety
GAD-7, 0 to 21
- Minimal0–4

- Severe15–21
Depression

Patients are marked high risk when either questionnaire reaches 15 or more. They're marked for monitoring when either reaches 10, or when average pain reaches 7.
